H&L Farms, LLC; Shaun Harris and Amie Harris v. Silicon Ranch Corporation; SR Lumpkin, LLC; Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives, Inc.; IEA Constructors, LLC; and Westwood Professional Services, Inc.; U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, Columbus Division. On April 28, 2023, a jury in Columbus, Georgia returned a verdict against Silicon Ranch Corporation, SR Lumpkin, LLC, Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives, Inc., and IEA Constructors, LLC. The case was filed on August 6, 2021, by Shaun and Amie Harris. Plaintiff owned property that included a 21-acre lake located in Stewart County, Georgia that was damaged by an upstream solar facility owned by Defendants. Defendants were found to have created, contributed to, and maintained a nuisance as well as committed negligence that caused the injury to Plaintiffs. The jury returned a verdict for compensatory damages to Shaun Harris in the amount of $4.5 million and compensatory damages to Amie Harris in the amount of $4.5 million as well. The jury also returned $125 million in punitive damages due to clear and convincing evidence that Silicon Ranch Corporation, Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives, Inc., and IEA Constructors, LLC, acted with specific intent to cause harm to Plaintiffs.
