Blown-tire to Blame for Bus Crash on Interstate 74 near Rockingham, North Carolina

By Butler Prather LLP on September 20, 2016

On Saturday, September 17, 2016, a bus carrying several college football players, coaches, and students from the Ramah Jucco Academy was involved in a fatal crash on Interstate 74 in North Carolina. The team, from Rock Hill, South Carolina, was headed to Fayetteville, North Carolina for a football game when the left side front tire suddenly blew out causing the bus to go out of control, striking a guardrail and concrete bridge column. Reports indicate there were at least four fatalities and more than forty others injured as a result of the wreck.

Tire manufacturers are expected and should provide safe and reliable tires-especially on large buses designed to carry passengers. Unfortunately, that is not always the case. Butler Prather LLP has seen first-hand the devastation and grief that tire manufacturers cause families and communities when passenger bus tires do not perform as they should. Butler Prather LLP is representing many survivors and the families of those who died as a result of a defective tire failure on a church bus. We have substantial experience investigating defective tire cases and holding tire manufacturers accountable for their negligence. If you or a family member has been injured or killed as a result of a defective tire, it is critical that you speak with an attorney that has experience holding tire manufacturers accountable for the devastation they cause.
