Former All-American Rifleman Mary K. Weeks Joins USA Shooting Board of Directors

(ATLANTA, GA) Georgia personal injury attorney Mary (Elsas) Weeks of Butler Prather LLP, was recently elected to serve USA Shooting as representative of the Athlete Advisory Council (AAC). Weeks was an eight-time All-American with the University of Kentucky rifle team. Upon graduation, she enlisted in the U.S. Army and continued shooting competitively with the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit out of Fort Benning and training at the U.S. Olympic Training Center before entering law school at Mercer University in Georgia.

As AAC representative, Weeks will serve as a liaison between shooting athletes and the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) and the USA Shooting (USAS) Board of Directors. She will serve a four-year term in her new position as a member of the Executive Committee of the USA Shooting Board of Directors.

Weeks looks forward to the chance to give back to a sport that has offered her countless opportunities. “I’m excited and honored to have the opportunity to work with USA Shooting and the athletes over the next quad,” Weeks commented to USA Shooting of her election to the Board as a representative of other athletes. “The sport has given me so much over the years, and I’m looking forward to giving something back.”
